  • Week 4 – Day By Day

My girlfriend and I bought a sentence a day book last year. We managed to complete all 365 entries for 2014 and we’re continuing on this year. This shot was taken as a real candid moment as my girlfriend was filling it out. I tried to recreate the moment the next day so I could use better composition, but the lighting wasn’t as good and it just didn’t seem as…

  • Week 7 – Taxi Stand

I always find myself arriving early to meet ups which I did on Saturday night. I went for a short walk and there was something about this small street that just seemed very appealing to me. Maybe it’s the fact there’s nature in the foreground with man made structures in the back, or maybe it just makes a nice evening scene.

  • Next Stop Perth

I have driven past this view many times in the past few weeks and had always wanted to take a shot from this bridge and finally did last weekend.

  • Take A Seat

So who doesn’t love a bench shot? Very typical I know but I love this park and I feel like it has nice scenery. It’s Hyde Park in Perth, many cities seems to have a Hyde Park and every one I have visited is so nice.

  • There Will Always Be Bumps Along The Way

While taking another photo (which will be uploaded tomorrow), I thought this would make an interesting image so decided to capture it. I stupidly rested my arm on the rail to further stabilize myself which worked against me due to the shake each time a car crossed the bridge. The Canon EF 35mm f2 IS really is an amazing lens, I find the focal length to perfect for me and…

  • Power Beam Bokeh

Someones Power Beach Torch on the handlebars of their bike.

  • Empty Streets

Last week I mentioned I took my 17-40 for a walk and here is another image I was happy with. I previously said I’ve tried to stay away from using the clarity slider in LR5 but after experimenting, I have gone back to using it and I believe I have found a good balance. This image was taken at: 17mm f8 ISO 100 1/200

  • The Jucist

This shot was actually 2 shots bracketed into one. I wanted to create a framing for ‘The Juicist’ stand and this is pretty much what I seen through my eyes. I could have pulled the shadows but it was real easy to bracket it and this way makes for a cleaner image so I gave it a try. .

  • Week 9 – Finding Its Owner

While walking to the station to catch my train home, I took my camera out to see what I could find. I went to take a photo of this bike by itself when this lady was looking around for something, while standing next to the bike which made it look like she was trying to find its owner.
